i'm going on semester at sea!

Holy hell this summer is going to be insane.

First, quite a few people suggested/asked that I keep a blog for this summer: as a disclaimer, I have never been able to keep anything like this updated (journal, blog, or otherwise) for more than two or three posts before I get bored of it, or simply decide that it's lame and quit... so, no promises, but I'll give it a go anyway.

So, anyone that knows me at all knows that procrastination is my modus operandi... rarely do I plan for something in a timely manner, if at all. Therefore, preparing for this trip has been a ridiculously intense/hellacious experience, and I'm pretty sure that I'm in way over my head/will forget a million important documents that are necessary for traveling. Watch me get quarantined in Canada.

But, if there's anything I've learned so far from this preparation process, it is that if a program has rolling admission, and March 13th is the final due date on all 11 forms they want you to complete, you probably shouldn't decide that you want to apply the night of the 12th. Just throwing that out there. However, if you decide that you're going to anyway, because years of procrastination has caused you to compulsively operate this way, I'd suggest adopting the mentality of "deadlines are more like guidelines..." and send really kiss-ass emails to the right people; works more often than it should.

Anyway, back to this summer; brief synopsis:
- leaving from Halifax, Canada 6/16

- 8 countries in 67 days

- arriving in Norfolk, Virginia 8/22

Oh, and I have a couple classes to take interspersed in there somewhere. Minor detail.
